Hey, I'm not understanding how the armors use certain sprites on the npcs. Specifically, I want to make a type of power armor for super mutants, but just how can I make the sprite of the power armored mutant be easily distinguished from the human types?

I downloaded some sprites that are new sprites of power armor and was planning to use that, but I really want to increase the scale of the size of the sprite so that the power armored mutant looks as tall as its original form - not the size of a human.

Actually that's damn near impossible, the only possible way is to get the 3D model of the character and remake the sprite.

Ah, dang. That's something I will NEVER be able to do. I don't do good at computer graphic designing, I'm only good at using a pencil. sad

Don't give up so easily. Google a tool called Sprite Creator and export the sprites (eg. in BMP forms).
Then try resizing the sprites with Photoshop or other tools, use "Sharpen" if the sprite looks rough when enlarged.

Ya lol its possible but 5x as easy to make a fully animated sprite for example:
The mutant sprite has i do believe 9226 frames counting layers resizing each one would be suicide!
Here is a example of layers that would need resized or else your mutants would all look the same yellowish color.

Any whey thanks for posting! your the 3rd person to comment smile

Good point. No need to resize every frame if you just need them using several kind of weapons.
Anyway, it'll be a lot easier to load a fallout3 nif and take snap shots and make them a sprite.
I know there's a tool called nifskope and there's a fallout3 mod with models of power armored super mutants.
